Morning Glory

by Celeste Boudreaux, January 2021

The image of the morning glory has been a beautiful and important symbol for me. I plant these seeds each spring and watch them all through the spring and summer in their daily rhythm of opening each morning and drooping in spent glory in the afternoon, with new buds ready to take their place the next day. (Here’s a video that shows the blooming in time lapse mode.)
This poem and collage are the result of my meditation on my Word for the Year for 2021, “Blossom.” May we all accept the loving invitation of the warming Sun to let go of our self-defensiveness and open up to acknowledge, embrace, and reveal to others the hidden treasure of our true self as we were meant to be.
